The home:
You enter through a beautiful stairwell with a marble floor, marble wainscoting and an elegant staircase. On the second floor you step into the hallway, with a separate toilet right there.

From the hallway you walk into the living room. It's three windows wide and looks out over the Singel, with the Krijtberg and the trees along the canal right in front of you. With windows at both the front and the back, it's wonderfully light. The white beamed ceiling and the light floor give the room a calm, fresh feel and leave you free to furnish it your way.

The kitchen is at the back, with a sleek anthracite finish and a dark worktop. It's fully equipped: induction hob, extractor hood, oven, dishwasher and a fridge with a three-drawer freezer. There's plenty of cupboard space, and from the counter you look outside.

The bedroom is on the floor above, and it's quite something. You sleep under the open roof with the old wooden beams on show, on a wide wooden plank floor. French doors with a Juliet balcony look out over the canal, and the oval window in the façade brings in extra light. Waking up to a view of the Singel is something you get used to quickly.

The area:
You live right in the heart of the city centre, between the Spui and the Negen Straatjes. On the Spui you'll find Athenaeum Boekhandel, the book market on Fridays and the art market on Sundays, and for a drink Café Hoppe and Café Luxembourg are close by. The Begijnhof and the Kalverstraat are around the corner. The Negen Straatjes, with small shops, coffee bars and restaurants, start just across the canal. The Bloemenmarkt and the Koningsplein are also only a few minutes' walk away.

Trams 2 and 12 stop at the Spui, and Rokin metro station on the Noord/Zuidlijn is a few minutes' walk. Centraal Station is a fifteen-minute walk and you can reach Schiphol in about half an hour.
