With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historical interior of the centuries-old orphanage disappeared. Hendrick de Keyser has restored the complex in phases over the past few years, made it more sustainable, and restored its history as much as possible. The last phase, the south wing, has been completed. There are six apartments available here, including the apartment at Lindenhof 14.

Restoration
The exterior (facades, window frames, and roofs) has been fully restored. Inside, the structure and layout have been renewed, with references to the historical interior. Sustainability has also been strongly emphasized: the outer facades have been insulated, monument glass has been installed, and inner walls have been constructed using timber framing. All units have modern installations such as underfloor heating, a new kitchen, bathroom and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the apartments and the commercial space are completely gas-free and have at least an energy label of A+.

Location:
Lindenhof is located in the historic heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the train station, various shops, and entertainment venues. In the immediate vicinity, paid parking applies. A parking permit can be requested from the municipality.

Layout Lindenhof 14:
This 76 m² property is entirely on the ground floor and is accessed via a shared entrance. Low thresholds and wide doors have been considered for good accessibility. Entrance into a hallway (approx. 7.8 m²) with a toilet room (approx. 1.6 m²) on the right side, a bathroom (approx. 3.5 m²) with a walk-in shower and double sink, and a utility room (approx. 2.1 m²). The tenants at Lindenhof can use the enclosed inner garden as a communal outdoor area. This covers approx. 1,800 m².

The apartments in the south wing are completely gas-free and have a high energy label, which is expected to result in significantly lower energy costs. Please note that fixed energy costs will be higher, approximately €150 per month. Additionally, a monthly advance of €60 for service costs will be charged.
