ARTIS Royal Zoo, the Plantage neighbourhood, the Maritime Museum, NEMO Science Museum and Dappermarkt are all within easy walking or cycling distance. Amsterdam Central Station and the historic canal district can be reached in approximately 10–15 minutes by bicycle. Javastraat, Oosterpark and the lively Indische Buurt are also easily accessible.

Convenient cycling routes connect the neighbourhood with the city centre, Amsterdam Oost and the waterfront. Nearby tram and bus services provide connections to Central Station and other parts of Amsterdam, while Amsterdam Muiderpoort railway station can be reached by bicycle or public transport.

Oostenburg has an urban yet relaxed atmosphere. It is less touristy than the central canal district but remains close to Amsterdam’s restaurants, nightlife and cultural attractions.
