With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historic interior of the centuries-old orphanage disappeared. Hendrick de Keyser has restored, made more sustainable, and brought back its history as much as possible over the past few years. The last phase, the south wing, has been completed. There are six homes available here, including the one at Lindenhof 9.

Restoration
The exterior (facades, frames, and roofs) has been fully restored. Inside, the construction and layout have been renewed, with references to the historical interior. In addition, there has been a strong focus on sustainability: the exterior walls are insulated, monument glass has been installed, and interior walls have been constructed with timber frame construction. All units feature modern installations such as underfloor heating, new kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the homes and business space are entirely gas-free and have a minimum energy label of A+.

Location:
Lindenhof is located in the historic heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the NS station, various shops, and entertainment venues. Paid parking applies in the immediate vicinity. A parking permit can be requested from the municipality.

Layout of Lindenhof 9:
This 81 m² home is located on the first floor and is accessed via a shared stairwell. Entrance into the hallway (approx. 2.9 m²) adjacent to a toilet (approx. 1.2 m²), an installation and laundry room (approx. 2.0 m²), and a cupboard under the stairs (approx. 0.8 m²).
