STREET NAME
The Dusartstraat is named after the Dutch artist Cornelis Dusart (1660–1704). Dusart was a Haarlem-born painter, draughtsman, and printmaker of the Golden Age, known for his genre scenes of peasant life. He was a pupil of Adriaen van Ostade and took over his master's studio after Ostade's death in 1685, continuing to produce works in his mentor's tradition while introducing a lighter palette and brighter colours.
