We are proud to present one of the most spectacular houses in Den Haag. The owners have dedicated the last 7 years in to building this exclusive house in a former church building.

This 440 square meter house (1600 cubic meters) divided over three floors, has the following layout:

The ground floor mainly consists of a large living room with a wood burner and open kitchen. From the living room you can enter the outside terrace / garden where you can enjoy the private pond and a bit of nature with all the visiting birds, which is fairly rare in the city. The big luxurious kitchen made of oak veneer has everything you need, from Pitt-cooking to a Quooker tap providing boiling, filtered and cooled sparkling water. Furthermore the ground floor has a spacious office, storage room, two beautiful hallways and a toilet. From the main hallway you can enter the cellar of about 30m2.

Going up the impressive staircase you will be amazed by the scenery that is laser cut into the central steel column.

On the first floor you enter a beautiful hallway with high stained-glass windows. This part serves as a music room, with a grand piano in place. From the hallway you can enter the master bedroom with a walk-in closet, a separate part that can be used as a nursery or yoga/hobby room and a very cozy ‘family bed’ measuring 255 cm wide. Energy efficiency

For a house of this size, it is extremely energy efficient. High standards of insulation have been incorporated and also the original stained-glass windows have been fitted with double paned glass. The whole house has floor heating. The ventilation system has a heat exchanger with an efficiency of 95%, blowing filtered, pre-heated fresh air back into the house, providing a healthy living environment. Also the heat of the shower water is reused with 55% efficiency. You can expect an approximate €250 per month on energy costs.

Other activities in the church

Adjacent to the house you will find Café Loft (****** for more information). This is a cozy lunchroom with an excellent choice of vegetarian dishes. Furthermore in the former church hall you will find coffee roaster / chocolate shop ‘Beans & Dreams’, a micro-brewery providing nice beers, and a yoga studio (******). This adds to the atmosphere of the place, without being a nuisance because of the great sound insulation between the two parts of the church.

Neighborhood

The house is located as if on a little island, surrounded by water in the ‘Vruchtenbuurt’, a very friendly neighborhood. There is enough parking space and the city center or the beach can be reached within 10 minutes by bike or tram.
