With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historic interior of the centuries-old orphanage disappeared. Hendrick de Keyser has restored, made sustainable and returned its history as much as possible over the past few years. The final phase, the south wing, has been completed. Six homes are now available here, including the home at Lindenhof 11.
Restoration
The exterior (facades, frames and roofs) has been completely restored. Inside, the structure and layout have been renewed, with references to the historic interior. In addition, there has been a strong emphasis on sustainability: the outer facades have been insulated, monument glass has been installed, and interior walls are made of wooden skeleton construction. All units are equipped with modern installations such as underfloor heating, a new kitchen, bathroom and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the homes and the commercial space are completely gas-free and have a minimum energy label of A+.
Location:
Lindenhof is located in the historic heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the NS station, various shops and entertainment venues. In the immediate vicinity, paid parking applies. A parking permit can be requested from the municipality.
Layout Lindenhof 11:
This property of 67 m² is entirely on the ground floor and has its own front door. Low thresholds and wide doors have been taken into account for good accessibility.
