This impressive, characteristic city house from around 1925 is situated in a prime location in the heart of the city center. The bend in the south wall offers a captivating view of the Grote Markt, the old town hall, the Wilhelmina Fountain, and the bustling market square with a variety of restaurants and charming terraces.

The property is located on the corner of Molenstraat/Kerksteeg and is approximately 17 meters deep and approximately 6.5 meters wide. The facade probably dates from 1835. From the Middle Ages onward, a large house must have stood here, where administrators with prominent names in local history had their home and court with stables. From approximately 1565 to 1830, the building was called "Het Gulden Zwaard" (The Golden Sword). Around 1800, the patriotic grain merchant Wessel Boudewijn Cappelhoff lived there. A hundred years later, the shop of the shoe and leather goods factory Cornelis van der Miessen was located there. The factory itself was then located on Groenmarkt (now number 5). It remained a shoe shop until Zillig purchased the building in 1957. At that time, the facade of the second floor was also built. In the winter of 2003, the house was purchased by an entrepreneur and subsequently renovated both inside and out to meet modern standards.
