Meidoornstraat 3, Zaandam is a one-family rowhouse, a front garden and a large north-facing backyard with a spacious patio, bright, sun-lit rooms on (an open plan living room and 4 bedrooms), three built-in closets, and two bathrooms. The house is insulated (wall, floor, roof insulation) and has solar panels and a new energy-efficient boiler, keeping the energy bills low.

It is located on a quiet residential street in the Boombuurt of Zaandam, only a short commute to the center of Amsterdam: 20 min bus ride to Amsterdam Noorderpark metro stop or a 10 min bus or bike ride to Zaandam station, with connection to Amsterdam every few minutes. Center of Zaandam (a 20 min walk or a short bike/bus ride) has essential shopping opportunities (Blokker, Hema, Etos), there is a market every Thursday and Saturday, with great offerings of cheeses, fresh produce and a fantastic baker.

The neighborhood is a mix of people who lived there for generations and young professionals, both Dutch and internationals, quite diverse and friendly.

The front entrance leads to a narrow hallway with a coat rack, a full length mirror, and (tiny) toilet. At the end of the hallway are the stairs to the next floor and the entrance to the living room. The living room is spacious, bright with two large windows, one facing the street (a lot of morning light) and one facing the back yard. It includes a compact, but well-equipped kitchen which opens into the backyard.

The kitchen has a built-in fridge, oven, induction stovetop, dishwasher and a good amount of shelving/storage (the oven and the dishwasher will be upgraded).

The first floor has two bedrooms, a master bathroom with shower and a window (bright and airy). Both bedrooms have built-in closets with shelving. The bigger bedroom faces the back yard. It does not get direct sunlight, but is still very bright thanks to the large window. It comfortably fits a full or queen sized bed and a dresser or stand-alone wardrobe. The second bedroom is smaller and is facing the street (south-facing). It is best as a kids room or hobby room, as it gets great light. It can fit a single or full size bed.

The first floor also includes a built-in closet on the landing and a laundry niche with a washer and dryer. The washer is new and on lease. It is possible for the tenant to bring their own washer. In this case, the washer lease can be ended and washer returned to the leasing company (Cool Blue).

The top floor includes another built-in closet and two rooms, which can be used as bedrooms, kids rooms, home office, hobby or guest rooms. The bigger room faces the backyard (quiet) and has three large windows (bright), making it an ideal home office for someone who takes a lot of video calls during their work day. The second room is a bit less bright as it has only one window, but is equally suitable as a home office or for other office.

The top floor landing also includes the CV ketel and solar panels unit.

The greatest asset of the house is its outdoor spaces. The front yard is protected by lush tall hedges which provide privacy. The back yard has a spacious patio with can easily accommodate a lounge set and an outdoor table to sit large parties, as well as a green lawn with blooming and fruiting plants. It is truly an oasis and an escape from the city bustle. The backyard also has a sizeable shed with enough space to hold two or three bikes, yard tools, and whatnot.

Rental price

The rental price is excluding gas/water/electricity, but including service costs.

Deposit

At the start of the rental agreement, a deposit is required.

The apartment will be rented through 'Overbruggingsverhuur'. Overbruggingsverhuur provides a temporary rental agreement for properties. There is no waiting list and we offer well-kept houses for an affordable rent.

Rental period

The rental period is 12 months.

General information

In order to rent an Overbruggingsverhuur rental house, the tenant has to meet certain conditions. A summary of these conditions is outlined below.

Conditions regarding house hold income

To meet the income requirement, your net income will need to be approx. 3 times the rental price. Any other payment commitments (for example debt collection agency) will be deducted from the house hold income. Another possibility to meet this requirement is to pay a higher deposit.
