With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historical interior of the centuries-old orphanage have vanished. Hendrick de Keyser has restored and sustainable enhanced the complex in phases over the last few years, bringing its history back as much as possible. Restoration
The exterior - facades, frames, and roofs - has been fully restored. Inside, the structure and layout have been renewed, with references to the historical interior. Sustainability has been strongly emphasized: the exterior walls have been insulated, monument glass has been installed, and interior walls have been constructed using wood frame construction. All units have modern installations such as underfloor heating, a new kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the residences and the commercial space are entirely gas-free and have at least energy label A+.
Location:
Lindenhof is located in the historical heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the NS station, various shops, and entertainment venues. In the immediate area, paid parking applies. A parking permit can be applied for from the municipality.
