With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historical interior of the centuries-old orphanage disappeared. Hendrick de Keyser has restored, made sustainable, and largely restored its history in phases over the past few years. The final phase, the south wing, has been completed. Restoration
The exterior (facades, frames, and roofs) has been fully restored. Inside, the structure and layout have been renewed, with references to the historical interior. Additionally, there has been a strong focus on sustainability: the outer walls have been insulated, monument glass has been installed, and interior walls have been realized in timber frame construction. All units feature modern installations such as underfloor heating, a new kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the homes and the business space are completely gasless and have at least energy label A+.
Location:
The Lindenhof is located in the historical heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the NS station, various shops, and entertainment venues. In the immediate vicinity, paid parking applies. A parking permit can be requested from the municipality for this.
Layout Lindenhof 11:
This 67 m² residence is entirely on the ground floor and has its own front door. Low thresholds and wide doors have been considered, for good accessibility.
